My name is Carmen Pedersen,
I am a professional natural gardener who will nurture your garden with passion and care! My gardening services include weeding, pruning, small planting projects, transplanting, fall clean-up, spring clean-up and garden consult/coaching. My experience includes 10 years tree farming at Bow Point Nursery, 2 seasons of professional gardening with Pixie Gardens, 2 seasons of professional gardening with Chelsie's Garden Soil-utions, B.Sc. Biology, B.Ed.
I am also a substitute teacher, and am so grateful for all the joy both my careers bring me! My business is called Petals on Pedals because I pedal my bike, trailer and gardening tools to your garden to help care for your growing space; I look forward to building a relationship with you and your garden!

I would love to help nurture your established garden by assisting with regular weeding, pruning when needed, dead heading, spring clean ups, fall clean ups, soil amendment and mulching!
Have you been dreaming of planting a beautiful garden or a garden rejuvenation and are looking for some assistance? I would love to help make your garden dreams come true! I can help you with your garden design, dig new garden beds, plant containerize plants up to a 25 gallon pot size, transplanting existing plants, and mulching. I can also help you with seeding your vegetable garden in the spring, garden harvesting and with bulb and garlic planting in the fall.
If you have any gardening questions, are looking for some guidance or a mentor I would love to help work beside you, teach, or consult to share my knowledge gained through 15 years of work experience and studying!

Building and Nurturing a Bee Keeper's Garden
I've been working closely with this client while we transform her front yard into a garden oasis with raised garden beds for growing vegetables and perennials for her bees to enjoy. We started by Lasagna Gardening a large piece of her front lawn creating a grass free growing space to build her raised vegetable beds and to plant perennials. This is an ever growing project as we plant a fresh vegetable crop in the spring and continue to add perennials throughout the season - I can't thank this gardener enough for including me in her journey!

Garden Bed Rejuvenation
This gardening family asked me to liberate their front garden bed that had been over grown with grass. I had such a fun afternoon digging out the grass, finding any hidden perennials and helping to make plans for future planting! Little projects like these fill my heart with so much joy!

Regular Garden Maintenance and Nurturing
This magical garden was Petals on Pedals first client and its magic never ceases to amaze me! This garden's designer chose specific plants to ensure staggering bloom times so pollinators and garden admirers will always have something to savor! Her crocuses, creeping veronica, golden rod, bee balm, delphiniums, masterwort, mother-of-thyme, apple tree and chrysanthemums always put a huge smile on my face! I am so grateful to have the opportunity to help nurture this gardener's growing space!!

Gardening with Carmen has been an incredible learning and growing (literally) experience. I am coming to see my yard as an constantly transforming and experimental place to play.
